The EarthCraft House Program is a voluntary green building program that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment. Any size and type of home can be an EarthCraft house by following the technical guildelines in this program. The guidelines are flexible enough to allow for a variety of approaches to environmental construction. The program was created in 1999 as a partnership between the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface Energy Institute. It became a statewide program in Virginia in 2005.

Looking to become an EarthCraft Builder?  First, you need to:

1. Attend an EarthCraft Builder Training
2. Join the Program by submitting an application
3. Join a regional affiliate of the Home Builders Association of Virginia
4. Participate in a Design Review with your Technical Advisor
5. Register as an ENERGY STAR Partner submitting the Partnership Agreement
